# Riding in Zwift

Once you've connected your devices, you can choose your next activity from the Home Screen.

If you've enabled background pairing and Zwift remembers your devices from your previous session, Zwift can skip the PAIRED DEVICES screen and take you directly to the Home Screen while your devices connect in the background.

## Starting Your Ride

From the Home Screen, choose how you want to ride. You can:

*   Select a route for a free ride.
    
*   Join an event.
    
*   Select a workout.
    
*   Join an available campaign, challenge, or mission.
    
*   Choose another available activity from the Home Screen.
    

Follow the on-screen options for your selection to start your ride.

## Things to Know

*   You can turn background pairing on or off from PAIRING OPTIONS on the PAIRED DEVICES screen.
    
*   Some devices may need to be woken up before they can connect. Waking your running equipment may help make it available to Zwift.
    
*   If you switch sports from your previous session, the PAIRED DEVICES screen will appear.
    
*   If the PAIRED DEVICES screen appears, connect your devices, then select OK to continue to the Home Screen.
