# Compatible Cycling Accessories

You can add optional accessories to your Zwift setup to enhance your experience. Accessories must connect using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or ANT+.

Controllers can change how you interact with Zwift, while accessories such as heart rate monitors and sensors provide additional data or features.

## Controllers

Compatible controllers let you control Zwift directly from your bike. You can use them to navigate menus, use in-game actions, and steer.

## Steering Devices

Steering devices let you to control your position on the road in Zwift, but don't support other in-game controls.

## Heart Rate Monitors

A heart rate (HR) monitor provides heart rate data while you're training in Zwift. You can connect nearly any HR monitor that broadcasts heart rate data using BLE or ANT+.

Apple® Watch isn't currently compatible with Zwift.

## Power Meters

You can add a power meter to most Zwift setups, including smart bikes, direct drive trainers, and wheel-on trainers. Zwift works with power meters that connect using BLE or ANT+.

## Speed and Cadence Sensors

If your trainer doesn't transmit data, you can add a speed or cadence sensor to measure your effort in Zwift.

If you're using a speed sensor, your effort in Zwift is generated by zPower, our estimated power curve.

*   **Speed Sensor:** Transmits speed.
    
*   **Cadence Sensor:** Transmits cadence. Cadence isn't required to Zwift but provides additional information.
    
*   **Speed and Cadence Sensor:** Transmits speed and cadence.
    

Zwift works with speed and cadence sensors that connect using BLE or ANT+.

## Grade Simulators

Grade simulators adjust the position of your bike to match changes in terrain in Zwift.

A smart fan can automatically adjust fan speed based on your ride or heart rate if you have a heart rate monitor paired.

Wahoo makes a smart fan that's compatible with Zwift.
