GDPR FAQ

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, and is a new standard for data privacy that applies to EU citizens. We’re updating our privacy policy and cookie policy in accordance with these new regulations and taking the opportunity to make these improvements for Zwifters around the world.

Here are some FAQs:

 

Q: What are you doing with my information?

A: To use Zwift, you need to create an account in addition to providing other information about you for us to accurately calculate information about your rides or runs. This includes your first and last name, gender, height, weight, and age. This information may be seen by other fellow Zwifters in the Zwift world.

Q: Where does my data show up?

A: When you use Zwift, we share your profile information with other Zwifters in the Zwift world, including your name, gender, height, weight, and age. Information about your activities may also be visible to other Zwifters during and after your activity. Chats and posts on message boards are also visible to other Zwifters. We do not share your email or date of birth with other users without your consent. Please see our privacy policy for more details.

Q: Why is this happening and what changed?

A: We've updated our privacy policy to make it easier for you to understand what information we collect and why we collect it. We're also taking steps to improve how we manage and protect your data, in addition to providing you tools to control your privacy settings. These changes are happening as GDPR comes into effect in the EU, and we are taking the opportunity to make these improvements for Zwifters around the world.

Q: Can I see/download all of the data you've collected about me?

Q: How and why does this affect third-party community sites/services (Zwift Power, CVR, Zwift GPS, etc.)?

A: While we work to provide GDPR complaint data access to the 3rd party community, many of these sites may be put on pause or otherwise disabled. Our intent is for this to be temporary only.
