Tacx Smart Trainer Cadence Drops to 0 Mid-Ride

We're currently investigating an issue where the cadence value from Tacx smart trainers can drop to 0 mid-ride and stop being read by Zwift. This only seems to affect Bluetooth native connections.

So far, we've seen this affect all Tacx trainers, including:

  • Bushido Smart
  • Flux
  • Genius Smart
  • Flow Smart
  • Neo Smart
  • Vortex Smart

You may be able to get a cadence reading by connecting via the Zwift Companion app or ANT+ instead.

Alternatively, if you purchase a separate cadence sensor, you can get a real cadence reading (any cadence coming from a trainer is "virtual" estimated cadence because it's not measuring your actual pedal stroke).
