# Upgrading Your Bike

[Bike Upgrades](https://support.zwift.com/en_us/bike-upgrades-faq-Bk9NDECjyx) allow you to upgrade any frame you own in Zwift! There are five different upgrade stages available for each frame with each stage improving an aspect of your frame's performance. To unlock an upgrade, you'll need to ride for a specific distance, elevation, or time on that frame—the requirements vary for each frame. Once you unlock the upgrade, you'll use your [Drops](https://support.zwift.com/drop-shop-faq-Bk1vMkTfB) to purchase it. Follow the steps below to get started:

You'll see an ![Upgraded Frame](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Cycling/Resources/Images/Upgraded%20Frame.png "Upgraded Frame") icon next to the name of upgraded frames in your Garage.

1.  Open the Garage:
    
    *   From the Home Screen, select ![Select garage](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Cycling/Resources/Images/Garage%20Button%20Icon.PNG "Select Garage").

    *   If you've started an activity, select **MENU**, then select **Garage**.

2.  When the next window loads, select **FRAME** from **MY GARAGE** on the left side of the screen.

3.  Select the frame you want to upgrade and then select **CLOSE**.
    
    While you can have multiple frames at different upgrade stages, the distance, elevation, or time you ride counts only to the frame you select.

4.  Once you've completed the required distance, elevation, or time to upgrade your frame—and you have the required Drops available—select the Drops price to purchase the upgrade.

5.  Select **UPGRADE** to confirm you want to spend your Drops and upgrade your frame.

6.  Select **LET'S GO** to upgrade your frame.
