# Compatible Bikes

Here are a few examples of the most commonly used bikes on Zwift:

We recommend road bikes with 700c tires for the best experience.

Most [trainers](https://support.zwift.com/compatible-trainers-BkPlq7gr) support 24" to 29" wheels.

## Road Bikes

A Road bike is a skinny tire bike designed to be fast and fun on the pavement. Usually has curved or ‘drop’ handlebars and a front and rear derailleur. These bikes are versatile and great for climbing!

## Tri Bikes

A Tri bike is a skinny tire bike designed to be fast and fun in one direction and only on paved roads. Usually has curved or ‘drop’ bars along with ‘aero bars’ sticking out in the front and front and rear shifting. This bike is super aerodynamic and not intended for hill climbing or casual riding.

## Hybrid Bikes

A Hybrid bike can have skinny or wide tires and designed to be comfortable and fun. This bike usually has flat handlebars and the rider will sit upright. Great for casual riding and not intended for long range endurance cycling.

## Mountain Bikes

A Mountain bike has knobby tires and is designed to be rowdy and capable! This bike usually has flat handlebars as well as a suspension fork. Great for trails and challenging terrain!

For the best Zwift experience, we don't recommend using knobby tires with [Wheel-on Trainers](https://support.zwift.com/compatible-trainers-BkPlq7gr "Wheel-on Trainers").

Ride On.
