Indoor Outdoor Challenge is a distance-based challenge where you complete 1,000 km using a mix of indoor Zwift activities and eligible outdoor activities. How do I join the Indoor Outdoor Challenge? You’re automatically enrolled when you log in to Zwift on or after July 1, 2026. When does the Indoor Outdoor Challenge take place? Indoor Outdoor Challenge takes place from July 1, 2026 @ 8 am (PT) through September 30, 2026 @ 11:59 pm (PT). [Convert to your local timezone](https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/). What do I need to participate in the Indoor Outdoor Challenge? You'll need a Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead device and you'll need to link your third party account to Zwift before starting the challenge. All Zwift activity automatically applies towards the challenge during the challenge window. If your outdoor activities aren't appearing despite having a connected account, simply unlink and relink your third-party provider to refresh and sync your previous rides and runs. Do outdoor activities count toward the challenge? Yes. Make sure you have your Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead accounts connected to Zwift before starting the challenge, so outdoor progress is awarded. Which activities count toward the challenge? Zwift rides, Zwift runs, and eligible outdoor rides and runs count toward the challenge distance. Outdoor activities must be recorded as a ride or a run to count. If you complete an outdoor walk, it will only count if it's recorded as a run. Can I do more than one ride or run per day? Yes. All activities count, but for outdoor, you must have your Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo accounts connected to Zwift. For running, you must have a Garmin or Wahoo account connected to Zwift. How do I track my progress? For Ride, you can track your progress in the Zwift Companion app and from the Home Screen in-game. For Run, you can only track your progress on Zwift Companion as tracking is not available in-game. You'll need to be on the latest Zwift version to see the tracking in Zwift. If you're not on the latest game version, you may see the tracker in Zwift Companion but no progress will be made towards the challenge until the game version is updated. Can I complete the challenge entirely outdoors or indoors? Yes. You can complete the full 1,000 km indoors, outdoors, or a mix of both. Why do I not see the challenge? This challenge is only offered to current members. If you don't have an active membership, you'll not see this challenge. I forgot to connect my third-party account before a big outdoor ride. Will my ride count? Yes, completed activities from within the challenge duration will populate when the account is connected. Why don't I see outdoor rides completed with a Garmin device? If you're not seeing an outdoor ride from a connected Garmin device, simply unlink and relink your third-party provider to refresh and sync your previous rides and runs. Does walking or hiking outdoors count? Only activities recorded as a run count toward running progress. What rewards do I earn? You'll unlock rewards based on distance milestones: Distance Reward 250 km 100,000 drops. 500 km In-game cap. 20% discount to Maurten. 750 km 5,000 XP. 1,000 km In-game kit. 20% discount to Maurten. If you unlocked the Indoor Outdoor Challenge kit through an outdoor activity, you’ll find it in the last row of unlocked kits in your Garage. How do I receive the 20% discount to Maurten? After reaching 500 km and 1,000 km, you'll receive the code via email. How do make sure I don’t miss the discount code emails? Make sure you're opted in to receive emails from Zwift. Can the discount code be used more than once? No. Each code can be used one time.
