# Zwift Ready FAQ

What is Zwift Ready?

Zwift Ready identifies smart trainers that include a pre-installed Zwift Cog and Zwift Click and support Zwift’s virtual shifting. These trainers are also compatible with other Zwift hardware, including Zwift Play and Zwift Ride Smart Frame.

How do I know if my trainer is Zwift Ready?

Can I upgrade my trainer to be Zwift Ready?

No. Zwift Ready trainers are sold with the Zwift Cog and Click included. If your trainer is Zwift Cog Compatible, you can install the Zwift Cog and Click Upgrade Kit, Zwift Play, or Zwift Ride Smart Frame and use virtual shifting after updating to the latest firmware from the trainer manufacturer.

What does the Zwift Ready mark look like?

The Zwift Ready mark is a logo shown on trainers that are sold as Zwift Ready.

Does my trainer need to be Zwift Ready to work with Zwift?

No. Most smart trainers work with Zwift. Zwift Ready and Zwift Cog Compatible trainers offer the best experience and support additional features like virtual shifting and are compatible with Zwift hardware.

Are there any trainer specific compatibility notes for Zwift Ready trainers?

Yes. some trainers have specific requirements or limitations when used with Zwift hardware.

*   The Wahoo KICKR MOVE requires using the LOCK-OUT option when used with the Zwift Ride Smart Frame.
    
*   The Garmin Tacx NEO 3M with Zwift Cog and Click includes the Zwift Cog, but it isn’t pre-installed on the trainer.
    
*   The Garmin Tacx NEO 3M isn’t compatible with the Zwift Ride Smart Frame.
