# Zwift Long-Term Challenges

Zwift long-term challenges are ongoing distance, elevation, or power-based goals that you complete over time while riding in Zwift.

## Things to Know

* Zwift long-term challenges are different from our limited-term challenges. For info on limited-term challenges, see [Completing a Limited-Term Challenge](https://support.zwift.com/en_us/completing-a-challenge-SJYxJv_NS).

* If you're new to Zwift, or haven't previously selected a challenge, we'll automatically enroll you in Climb Mt. Everest.

* You can only participate in one long-term challenge at a time. Progress is saved if you switch a long-term challenge and return later.

## Understanding Power Units

Power Units (Wh/kg) are calculated using your weight, time, and average power.

**Example:** (313w / 100kg) × (142 minutes / 60) = 7.41 Power Units

### Notes

* Ensure your public profile info is accurate.

* You can earn a maximum of four Power Units per hour.

* You can earn a maximum of 15 Power Units per activity.

* If you receive the UH OH! flyer speed detection warning, the activity won't count toward the challenge.

* When you unlock the Aero Lightning Socks, they replace the Lightning Socks in your Garage.
