## Zwift Cog Versions

The original (black) Zwift Cog was released in October 2023 with the Zwift Hub One; it was updated for the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One and also sold with the Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE Zwift One. In the Fall of 2024 we released an updated second generation (orange) Zwift Cog. The second generation is included with many [Zwift Ready](https://support.zwift.com/zwift-ready-trainers-r1x1sNas0) trainers and you can also buy it as an [upgrade kit](https://us.zwift.com/collections/training-accessories/products/zwift-cog-and-click-upgrade-kit?variant=45867396563200).

Chain guard for mess- and maintenance-free riding.

Compatible with most 8- to 13-speed drivetrains.

Not compatible with the Campagnolo N3W 13-speed chain or some Specialized Stumpjumper models from 2018-2021.

## Zwift Cog With or Without Freehub

You may have purchased your Zwift Cog with, or without a freehub included—the freehub holds the cassette and allows you to coast when you stop pedaling. If you purchased a Zwift Cog with a freehub included, you can easily slide your Zwift Cog onto the trainer axle. If you purchased a Zwift Cog without a freehub, your Zwift Cog is secured on a plastic tube and installs on your existing freehub. You'll first need to remove the cassette or Zwift Cog from your existing freehub. ## Zwift Cog 14t or 18t

To optimize the gear ratio for your drivetrain—everything that connects your pedals to the trainer to make your avatar move in-game—the Zwift Cog has either 14 or 18 teeth (t) depending on the brand of your trainer.

*   **JetBlack:** 14t
    
*   **Van Rysel:** 14t
    
*   **Wahoo:** 14t
    
*   **Zwift:** 14t
