# Your XP and Level in Zwift

Your level in Zwift increases as you earn experience points (XP). XP is earned by riding, completing activities, and participating in events.

## Earning XP

You can earn XP in Zwift from the following:

Riding:

*   Distance ridden (per mile or kilometer).
    
*   Completing a route for the first time.
    
*   Maintaining a ride streak.
    
*   Completing featured activities (Climb of the Week, Route of the Week, Workout of the Week).
    
*   Completing challenges with XP rewards.
    
*   Receiving certain XP bonuses.
    

Workouts:

*   Completing workout intervals.
    

XP values and bonuses may vary by activity.

## XP Required to Level Up

The amount of XP you need to earn to level up varies depending on the sport and level:

CYCLING

*   **Level 1-100:** Between 750 - 20,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 101-199:** 20,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 200-299:** 21,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 300+:** 22,000 per level
    

RUNNING

*   **Level 1-30:** Between 1,000 - 8,000 per level.
    
*   **Level 31-35:** 9,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 36-40:** 10,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 41-45:** 11,000 XP per level.
    
*   **Level 46-50:** 12,000 XP per level.
    

## Viewing Your Level and XP

You can view your level and XP in the following places:

Level:

*   Home Screen (next to your initials).

## Leveling Up

As you earn XP, you’ll level up and unlock gear and other in-game content.

*   The amount of XP required increases as you progress.
    
*   Some routes and gear require a minimum level.
    
*   Zwifters at level 100 or above display an orange stripe in the Zwifters Nearby list.
    
*   You may be on a different level than expected as a result of being in Level Transitioning or Accelerated Leveling.
    
*   When you reach level 100 for cycling, your XP is aligned to a standard baseline. You may notice a change in your XP at level 100.
    
*   When you reach level 30 for running, your XP is aligned to a standard baseline. You may notice a change in your XP at level 30.
