# Updating Your Zwift Play Firmware

Update your Zwift Play to the most recent firmware using the Zwift Companion (ZC) app.

If possible, use your personal phone to update your Zwift Play firmware to avoid issues with limited permissions.

## Before You Start

*   Make sure your Zwift Play controllers are fully charged or plugged in.
    
*   Make sure the mobile device running the ZC app is fully charged or plugged in.
    
*   If you don't already have the ZC app, download it from the [Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zwift.android.prod "Google Play Store") or the [iOS App Store](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zwift-mobile-link/id934083691?mt=8 " iOS App Store").
    
*   Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
    
*   If you're using an iOS device, you may need to turn on Bluetooth for Companion in your device Settings.
    
*   You may need to turn on Location services to pair BLE devices when using the ZC app.
    
*   Make sure your controllers aren't connected to the Zwift game.
    

## Update Your Firmware

1.  Power on your Zwift Play controllers.
    
2.  Open the ZC app and sign in.
    
3.  Open the ZC app menu:
    *   **Android™:** Select the menu icon.
    *   **iOS®:** Select **MORE** in the bottom navigation bar.
4.  Select **EQUIPMENT**.
5.  Select **ZWIFT PLAY**.
6.  If a firmware update is available, select **UPDATE FIRMWARE**.

7.  Select **PROCEED** to start the firmware update.
    
    The LED on the controller is solid yellow when the firmware is updating.
    
8.  When the firmware is up-to-date, select **OK** when prompted in the ZC app.
