# Updating Your Privacy Settings in Zwift Companion

To update your default privacy settings, sign in to the Zwift Companion (ZC) app on your iOS® or Android™ device and complete these steps:

Prior to updating your privacy settings for your first time, your activities will default to private.

1.  Access the ZC menu by completing one of the following:
    *   If you're using an Android device, select the ![Zwift Companion app menu button](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/ZC_Menu_Button.png "Menu Button") icon.
    *   If you're using an iOS device, select **MORE** in the bottom navigation bar.
2.  Select **Settings**.
3.  Select **Privacy**.
4.  Once the **Privacy** screen loads, select the items you want to update:
    
     
    
    Slider
    
    Description
    
    Approve Follow Requests
    
    Prevent other Zwifters from following you without your approval.
    
    Private Message
    
    Allow only Zwifters who are following you to send you a private message.
    
    Display Age
    
    Hide your age from your public profile.
    
    Activity Privacy Details
    
    Allows you to determine if everyone, only your followers or only you can see your new activities.

## Changing Your Privacy Settings for a Past Activity

Follow these steps in ZC to change the settings for a past activity:

1.  Navigate to your Activities.
    
    *   If you're using an Android device, select the ![Zwift Companion app menu button](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/ZC_Menu_Button.png "Menu Button") icon then select **ACTIVITIES**.
        
    *   If you're using an iOS device, select **ACTIVITIES** in the bottom navigation bar.
        
2.  Select **JUST ME**.
    
3.  Select the activity you want to update.
4.  When the activity loads, select ![Select edit icon](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/ZC%20Activity%20Edit%20Icon.png "Select Edit Icon").
5.  Once the **EDIT ACTIVITY**window loads, select one of the following options:
    *   PUBLIC
    *   FOLLOWERS

6.  After you've selected the option you want, select **APPLY**.
7.  If you don't want to apply this option, select **CANCEL** to exit out of the window.
