# Tracking Outdoor Activities in Zwift FAQ

Can I get credit in Zwift for completing rides and runs outdoors?

Yes. With an active Zwift subscription, eligible outdoor cycling activities over 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) completed with a Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo device are counted in Zwift and earn XP.

Eligible outdoor running activities over 800 meters (0.5 miles) completed with a Garmin or Wahoo device also earn XP.

To see your outdoor activities in Zwift, connect your Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo account. If you've already linked your Garmin account, you may need to disconnect and reconnect it to sync your activities.

Will outdoor activities count toward my cycling stats in the Zwift Companion app or on zwift.com/feed?

No. Outdoor rides aren't included in the distance, time, elevation, or slices burned shown in your cycling stats in the Zwift Companion app, or the distance, time, elevation, or calories shown on zwift.com/feed.

Do I need to do anything to sync my outdoor activities?

Yes. Connect your Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo account to Zwift.

Once connected, eligible outdoor cycling activities over 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) and eligible outdoor running activities over 800 meters (0.5 miles) sync automatically.

If Garmin activities aren't appearing, disconnect and reconnect your Garmin account.

Will all my outdoor activities sync to Zwift?

Not always. After you connect or reconnect your Garmin or Wahoo account, activities from the previous 90 days appear in your Fitness Tracker. However, only activities completed after you connect or reconnect earn XP.

After you connect your Hammerhead account, only rides completed after the connection appear in Zwift.

Activities with superhero-level wattage won't be tracked in Zwift.

Can other Zwifters see my outdoor activities?

No. Only you can see your imported outdoor activities.

What is the Zwift Fitness Tracker?

The Zwift Fitness Tracker gives you a week-by-week view of your training, including your activities, training score, and training status.

The Fitness Tracker is available only in the Zwift Companion app.

How much XP do outdoor activities earn?

Eligible outdoor cycling activities earn 5 XP per kilometer, up to a maximum of 1,000 XP per day. Distances are rounded up to the nearest kilometer. For example, a 39.4-kilometer ride is rounded up to 40 kilometers and earns 200 XP.

Eligible outdoor running activities earn 8 XP per kilometer.

Only activities completed after you connect or reconnect your account earn XP.

Do outdoor rides count toward bike upgrades?

No. Only distance ridden in Zwift on your currently equipped bike frame counts toward bike upgrade progress. Distance from outdoor rides that sync to Zwift doesn't count.

Do outdoor activities count toward my ride streak?

Yes. With an active Zwift membership, eligible outdoor rides and runs completed after you've connected or reconnected your Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo account count toward your ride streak.

The ride streak XP bonus is awarded only for your first Zwift activity of the week. Outdoor activities don't earn the streak XP bonus.

What devices can I use to sync outdoor activities?

You can currently sync activities from Garmin, Hammerhead, and Wahoo devices.

I record activities with my Apple® watch and sync them through Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo. Do they count?

Activities recorded on a third-party device, such as an Apple Watch, don't earn XP in Zwift, even if they appear in Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo.

They do appear in your Zwift Fitness Tracker and contribute to your Fitness Tracker metrics.

Will my Fitness Tracker metrics match those in other training apps?

Not necessarily. Zwift uses your in-game profile data along with its own calculations to determine your Fitness Tracker metrics.

Keep your in-game profile up to date for the most accurate results.

Will my activity duration match what I see in Garmin/Hammerhead/Wahoo?

Not always. Zwift processes your raw activity data instead of importing summary information from partner platforms, so metrics such as activity duration may differ slightly.

Do I need to connect a power meter during my outdoor rides?

Only if you want to see your training zones in the Fitness Tracker. Without a connected power meter, your activity still syncs to Zwift, but training zones aren't displayed. Instead, the activity appears in gray.

How do I make sure my outdoor Training Zones are accurate in the Fitness Tracker?

Make sure your FTP is accurate and matches in both Zwift and your connected applications. If needed, you can manually update your FTP in Zwift.

Does deleting an activity in Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo remove it from Zwift?

No. Once an activity has synced to Zwift, you'll need to delete it from Zwift if you don't want it included in your Fitness Tracker.

I'm seeing a duplicate activity reported in Zwift, what should I do?

Delete the duplicate activity in the Zwift Companion app.
