# Teleport FAQ

We know you might have some questions about teleporting, so we've put together this FAQ to help you out.

**Q:** What is Rider Teleport?

A: [Rider Teleport](https://support.zwift.com/teleporting-in-zwift-ByCwOYCUn) lets you instantly join up with your friends or RoboPacers while riding in Zwift. With Rider Teleport, you can quickly move next to a Zwifter you follow and who follows you back, or teleport between RoboPacers without ending your activity, as long as you stay in the same world. After completing a workout or event, you can instantly jump to a RoboPacer for a cooldown or extra miles.

**Q:** Who can I Teleport to?

A: You can teleport to your friends or to a Pacer Group while you're free-riding in Zwift. Just keep the following in mind:

*   You're in the same sport and world as your friends or the Pacer Group you want to join.
    
*   You follow your friend in the Zwift Companion app, and they follow you back.
    
*   Your friend is also doing a free ride and isn't in an event or working out.
    
*   Your friend is currently Zwifting.
    

**Q:** How do I Teleport?

A: Find which RoboPacers or Zwifters you can teleport to via the Teleport icon in the action bar. Select your destination—a Zwifter you follow and who follows you back, or a RoboPacer—and your avatar will jump to their location. It's a quick and convenient way to join your friends or find a group that’s going at your ideal pace.

**Q:** How will I know if one of my friends is Zwifting?

A: You can check for available friends to teleport to from the Teleport icon in the action bar.

**Q:** Won’t this feature allow members to cheat in races or events?

A: You won't be able to use Teleport during any race or event, and you wont be able to teleport next to someone participating in a race or event.

**Q:** What if I don't want people to Teleport to me?

A: No problem, if you don't want someone to teleport next to you, just make sure you're [not following them](https://support.zwift.com/managing-followers-Hy2AALONB) in the Zwift Companion app.

**Q:** How will teleporting affect my ride stats?

A: There's a few things to keep in mind when you're using Rider Teleport:

*   Only the distance you actually ride or run will be associated with your activity, the distance you teleported won't be counted.
    
*   Any pedal-assisted time following the teleport won't count toward your elapsed time.
    
*   You won't earn a route badge if you use the Teleport feature, unless you earn the badge before you teleport.
    
*   You won't earn a leaderboard position, or record a time for your HoloReplay if you teleport during a KOM or sprint.
