# Performing U-Turns in Zwift

When you're [free-riding](https://support.zwift.com/en_us/cycling-activities-ryXAjrqYo) or working out in Zwift, you can perform a U-turn on most routes. There are a few things to keep in mind though:

*   You can't perform a U-turn when you're in an event or meetup.
    
*   You can perform a U-turn to repeat a segment, but you won't receive additional Power Ups for going through the same arch multiple times in a short period of time.
    
*   You can't perform a U-turn if you're going under 3mph (~5 kph) and your u-turn may be delayed if there are Zwifters trying to pass you.
    
*   You'll slow down to 15mph (~21kph) before making the turn.
    

There's a few different ways you can perform a U-turn:

To open the action bar; if you're using a Mac or PC, press the 'Up' arrow key. If you're using an iOS or Android, swipe up or tap on the screen. If you're using an Apple TV, swipe up on the remote's touch pad.

Keyboard Shortcut

Press the **↓** key on your keyboard.

Zwift Companion App

Zwift Play
