# Missing Zwift Folder or Files

Follow the steps below to locate your Zwift folder and files (such as Activities, Logs, or Workouts) on your computer.

## Possible Causes

* Hidden folders are not visible.

* Zwift folder moved to a network location instead of your local PC.

* You’re not using an administrator account.

* Your administrator account username contains special characters (symbols or punctuation).

* Folder access or permissions are restricted.

## Resolution

Follow these steps in order. Check if you can see your folder/files after each step.

1. Verify Zwift folder location.

    * Make sure Zwift is installed on your local PC, not a network folder. On work or managed computers, files may be stored on a network location that isn’t always available.

    * If your Zwift folder is located on a network folder, uninstall and reinstall Zwift.

Reinstalling Zwift deletes any custom workouts stored locally on your computer. Back up these files before you begin.

2. Run Zwift as administrator.

    * Right-click the Zwift file and select **Run as administrator**.

3. Check your account username.

    * Remove special characters from your administrator account username.

    * Create a new administrator account without special characters.

4. Check antivirus or security software.

    * Make sure your antivirus software isn’t preventing Zwift from writing to your account folder.

    * Allow Zwift through Controlled Folder Access if enabled (see [Microsoft documentation](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/allow-an-app-to-access-controlled-folders-b5b6627a-b008-2ca2-7931-7e51e912b034)).

    * Add Zwift as an exclusion in Windows Security(see [Microsoft documentation](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/allow-an-app-to-access-controlled-folders-b5b6627a-b008-2ca2-7931-7e51e912b034)).
