# Joining a Cycling Event

# Joining a Cycling Event

Whether it's a group ride or a race, Zwift mass-start events give you a chance to experience the rush of riding in a peloton—from the comfort of home. Here are a couple things to keep in mind about Cycling events:

*   If you're riding on Zwift before an event to warm up, you can join the event up to 30 minutes before it starts.
*   When you join the event, your progress up to that point will be saved as a separate fit file, so don't worry about losing any progress.
*   You can see details for what events are coming up either via our [website](http://zwift.com/events/ "website ") or through the Zwift Companion (ZC) app.

Once you've registered for the event you want to attend, you have a few different options for joining:

1.  You can join from the Home Screen by selecting the event tile under **UPCOMING EVENTS**, then selecting START RIDE.
    
2.  When you're in-game and it's nearing time for the event to start, you'll see a pop-up letting you know it's time to officially join and get to the starting line. You can:
    
    *   Select **JOIN EVENT** at the bottom left of your screen, or from the ZC app, starting 30 minutes before the event start time.
        
        You'll be brought in from the course to the starting area where you can chat with your fellow riders or warm up in place on a virtual trainer.
        
    *   Select **LET'S GO** when it displays a few minutes before the event officially begins—or let it auto-select to teleport you automatically to the starting line so there's no need to get off the bike .
        
        If you select No Thanks, you won’t automatically teleport to the starting line before the event begins—so be sure to manually join at least 15 seconds before the official start time!
        
3.  Make sure you're pedaling when the countdown hits 0:00—and enjoy your ride!
    

## Event Results

At the end of the event, you'll see a results screen pop-up showing participants' stats, you can view this screen again by following this simple step:

Some race organizers have asked that we turn off the results screen—so check the race description or ask the race organizer for information on where to go for full results.

1.  Select ![Orange button with white paper outline](https://zwiftdmz-marcom-us-east.s3.amazonaws.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/Results.PNG "Results") next to **FINISHED EVENT** from your **RIDE** **REPORT** before selecting **OK**.

1.  Once you've viewed your results, select **CLOSE**.

## Race Results

Race results can be viewed—for activities where Race Results was turned on—in the following locations:

*   [The event page on zwift.com/events](#Event_Page).
    
*   [Your activity feed on zwift.com](#Activity_Feed).
    
*   [The Zwift Companion (ZC) app](#ZC_App).
    

### Event Page

Race results can be viewed at the end of the race event page at [zwift.com/events](https://www.zwift.com/events).

You need to be logged in to Zwift.com to view race results.

### Activity Feed

Race results can be viewed by selecting a race activity from your activity feed at [zwift.com/feed](https://www.zwift.com/feed).

### ZC App

Race results can be viewed in the ZC app by following these steps:

1.  Open the ZC app on your phone.
    
2.  Navigate to **ACTIVITIES**.
    
3.  Select an activity where Race Results was turned on and scroll down until you see the **RACE RESULTS** section.

1.  Select **RACE RESULTS** to view and scroll through the full results.
