# Giving a Ride On

A Ride On is a quick way to encourage other Zwifters. You can give a Ride On while you're Zwifting or to Zwifters you follow at any time.

The Ride On graphic (the blue thumbs-up icon) appears above an avatar's head when they receive a Ride On.

## Giving a Ride On While You're Zwifting

You can give a Ride On in any of these ways::

*   [To a nearby Zwifter](#To_a_Nearby_Zwifter)
    
*   [To a group of nearby Zwifters](#To_a_Group_of_Zwifters_in_Your_Vicinity)
*   [Using your Zwift Play or Zwift Ride controllers](#Using_Your_Zwift_Play_or_Zwift_Ride_Controllers)
*   [From the Zwift Companion (ZC) app](#Zwift_Companion_App).
    

### Giving a Ride On To a Nearby Zwifter

1.  Select a name from the **Zwifters Nearby** list on the right side of the screen.
2.  Select the **Ride On** icon next to their name.
    
3.  Select **BACK TO ME** to return to your avatar.

### Give a Ride On To a Group of Nearby Zwifters

1.  Select **EMOTES** from the action bar.
    
2.  Select **RIDE ON**.

### Give a Ride On Using Zwift Play or Zwift Ride Controllers

1.  Press the **Z** button on your controllers to return a Ride On you've received.
    
2.  Press and hold the **Z** button on your controllers to give a Ride on to five Zwifters within your vicinity.
    

### Giving a Ride On from the Zwift Companion (ZC) App

The ZC app provides multiple ways to give a Ride On when it is connected to Zwift.

*   **From the Map:** Select your avatar's arrow to give a group Ride On to five nearby Zwifters.

*   **To an individual from the map:** Select a Zwifter's avatar dot, then select the **Ride On** icon.

*   **From the Zwifters list:** Select **ZWIFTERS**, select a nearby Zwifter, then select the **Ride On** icon.
    
    On Android, ZWIFTERS is at the top of the screen. On iOS, it's at the bottom.

## Giving a Ride On at Any Time

You can also give a Ride On when you're not currently Zwifting. You can do this from your Activity Feed or the ZC app.

### From the Activity Feed

1.  Go to [zwift.com/feed](http://www.zwift.com/feed).
2.  Select the Ride On icon for the Zwifter you want to encourage.
    
    The Ride On icon turns blue after you've given a Ride On for that activity.
    

### From the Zwift Companion App

1.  On the **HOME** screen, select the Ride On icon under **ZWIFTING NOW** to give a Ride On to people you follow who are currently Zwifting.
    

## Things to Know

*   When giving a Ride On to a group of nearby Zwifters, Ride Ons are sent to Zwifters cycling or running in either direction. Recipients briefly appear with a blue highlight.
