# Drafting in Zwift

Drafting lets you ride at the same speed as other riders while using less power. When you ride closely behind another Zwifter or within a group, you can reduce wind resistance and maintain speed with less effort.

For example, if you're riding at the front of a group at 200 watts, you may be able to maintain the same speed at lower power by riding in the group's draft.

## How Drafting Works

* To draft, ride closely behind another Zwifter.

* A blue bar appears under the center display when drafting is active.

* A larger blue bar indicates a stronger draft effect.

* Drafting doesn't reduce trainer resistance.
