## Creating a Custom Workout

Pro Tip: If you don't complete a workout block, you won't receive XP for that block. To ensure you receive XP for your workouts, it's best to create multiple smaller blocks rather than fewer larger blocks.

1. From the Home Screen, select **WORKOUTS**.

2. Do one of the following:
    * Create a new workout: Select **Custom** > **CREATE WORKOUT**. Show image

        ![Zwift custom workout menu showing Create Workout](https://content-cdn.zwift.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/Cycling - Workouts Create Workout 1.102.png "Select Create Workout")

    * Create a custom workout based on an existing workout: Select a workout, then select **Copy**. Show image

        ![Zwift workout showing Copy](https://content-cdn.zwift.com/support/EN/Cycling/Resources/Images/1.54 Cycling Copy Workout.png "Select Copy")

3. Build or edit the workout.

    * Drag and drop intervals to add or adjust workout blocks.

    * To set a specific wattage, enter a value in the **Power** field or drag the interval up or down.

4. Select **New Workout**/**\[Workout Name\]** to rename your workout.

    * Avoid using special characters (symbols or punctuation) in the name to help ensure syncing across devices.

5. (Optional) Tag your workout for better filtering.
6.  (Optional) Add a description.

    Select **Save**once you are happy with your custom workout. Show image

## Importing Custom Workouts

You can import custom workouts from certain third-party platforms, or from .zwo files.

### Importing from Third-party Platforms

1. Connect a supported third-party platform to Zwift.

2.  Access your workout from:

    * The **FOR YOU** carousel on the Home Screen.

    * The third-party folder in **WORKOUTS** > **Custom**.

### Things to Know

*   TrainingPeaks workouts must:

    * Have unique titles without special characters.

    * Use % FTP and duration (cycling) or % threshold pace and distance/duration (running).

* Completed TrainingPeaks workouts are removed from the Home Screen.

    * To repeat a previous workout, rename the workout in TrainingPeaks. E.g. "HIIT Workout 1-1-26".

*   TriDot workouts:

    * Appear 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

    * Remain for 2 days after completion.

* Wahoo SYSTM workouts must be scheduled in your Wahoo SYSTM calendar.

* Only cycling workouts (not running) are supported from Xert.

* Completed workouts automatically sync back to certain third-party platforms.

* Keep FTP values consistent across platforms.
