# Connecting Your Heart Rate Monitor Using the Zwift Hub

You can use your Zwift Hub as a Bluetooth bridge to connect your heart rate monitor (HRM) to Zwift.

First, connect your HRM to the Zwift Hub in the Zwift Companion (ZC) app, then finish setup in Zwift.

## Before You Start

* Download the app from the [App Store](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zwift-mobile-link/id934083691?mt=8 "App Store") or [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zwift.android.prod "Google Play").

* Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.

* You may need to enable Location Services to connect devices when using ZC.

* On iOS, you may need to allow Bluetooth access for the ZC app in your device settings.

* Make sure your Zwift Hub is powered on and the LED is flashing blue.

## Connecting Your Heart Rate Monitor in ZC

1. Open the ZC app and sign in.

2. Open the menu.

    * On Android™, select the menu icon.

    *   On iOS®, select **MORE**.

3. Select **EQUIPMENT**.

4. Select your Zwift Hub.

5. If a firmware update is available for the Zwift Hub, update that now.

6. Select **PAIR DEVICE**.

7. Select your heart rate monitor from the list.

8. Once you've connected your HRM in ZC, open Zwift and finish setup from the Paired Devices screen. See [Connecting a Heart Rate Monitor](https://support.zwift.com/connecting-a-heart-rate-monitor-Hk0MimWlS) for steps to connect your device and provide heart rate data consent.

## Things to Know

* You can't connect a smartwatch to the Zwift Hub as a heart rate monitor. If you want to use your smartwatch as a heart rate monitor, you'll need to connect it directly with Zwift.

* Make sure you're wearing your heart rate monitor and it's turned on so the ZC app can find it.

* Make sure your HRM isn’t connected to another app or device, or Zwift may not detect it.

* When you finish connecting your HRM in Zwift, you’ll be asked to provide consent to use your heart rate data.

* You can withdraw your consent at any time from your in-game settings: My Settings > Permissions > Heart Rate Data Consent.

* When connected, an HRM lets you view your heart rate in-game and includes that data in your activity.

* To connect your HRM to another device, first unplug your Zwift Hub.
